 | XC8 Joins Western Canada Enduro Series |
| posted February 28st, 2008 …… by Offroad Syndicate |
|
The ORS is proud to annouce we have graciously accepted an invitation to have the Blocks Cycle XC8 included in the Western Canada Enduro Series. Even though the event is now part of this endurance racing series, the XC8 remains an independant event. What this means is now you can race other events in the series for points and prizes. The XC8 is the ONLY event in the series that is based outside of Alberta and BC (yes, the XC8 is *that* good).

 | Blocks Cycle XC8 2007 |
| updated September 12th, 2007 …… by Offroad Syndicate |
|
XC8 2007 was a grand success. 83 racers took to the valley from across three provinces, the weather was excellent (minus 5 minutes of rain) and the racers are overwhelmingly supportive of the event. The Alberta Dead Goats cleaned house on the podium in the solo categories, sparing one 3rd place finish to one of our Manitoba friends. 2005 Champion Pat Doyle took 1st place Solo Male and Trish Grajczyk took 1st place Solo Female. Offroad Syndicate's very own "Insidious Again" (Dave and Kris) took 1st in the Doubles category and "Train in Vain" won the Team category.

 | Upcoming Events |
| posted August 30th, 2007 …… by Offroad Syndicate |
The Wednesday night races are over (thanks for everyone for coming out and enjoying the race, prizes, and BBQ) but there is still much more fun to have this season that doesn't all involve hardcore racing, check it out:
August 31st: Critical Mass Ride
Starting from Vic Park at 5:30p. This is an awareness ride like those in the larger cities, let it be known that biking is the best way to travel!
September 2nd: DARN
Hosted by Rick Turnbull at his cabin on Pasqua Lake. Enjoy an afternoon ride of his epic trails, and a stellar night race. The entire day (and night) is the social shindig of the season, so don't miss out. All you need to bring is yourself, your bike, your lights, and a tent (optional). Rick will supply everything else (really!). Click here for complete details and directions.
September 8th: Blocks Cycle XC8
There are almost as many racers from Alberta and Manitoba as there are from Saskatchewan! This is going to be the best XC8 ever. Click here for details
NEW! There is a Downhill Race scheduled for Sunday (Sept 9th), hosted by Blocks. It will be a hammerfest down the popular trail "Roots" -- fastest wins. $10 entry fee, 100% given away as prizes!
September 15th: Paintball Day
This is the first time we're having a paintball day, take out your frustrations from the season. Click here for details
September 20th: ORS AGM
The Annual General Meeting for the ORS. We usually bribe you guys to come with free food and this year is no different. Lots of things on the agenda this year like membership rates, event review, and your chance to pitch new ideas, questions, or concerns. Location to be announced.
September 30th: Dutch Cycle-cross Classic
Cyclocross is a biking obstacle course that can be riden on either a cyclocross bike or mountain bike. There are not usually hills, but rest assured, its a challenge. NOTE the new date of Sept 30th.

 | Wanna race the 24h at Canmore? |
| posted June 13th, 2007 …… by Rob Wirtz |
|
I need to sell this 24 hours team and I am trying to get random people together to form a team.
So far I have a strong committment from a 28 year old senior expert rider in Creston BC (works at a brewery (Kokanee I presume) and can provide beer). The other person is a female landscaper who lives in Camore, she is not as comitted, but is still interested. So I need two or three more people. Or if they want they could take the whole team so it is all people they know.
Cost would be $140/person. Race is on July 7 and 8th.
Thanks!
