Executive Membership
The Offroad Syndicate is a volunteer based organization. The "executive" members of the club (above) operate the club and run its programs and events with the help of many other volunteers. Every year at the annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) the club members elect (or re-elect) ORS members to the executive to operate the club. Any interested member of the Offroad Syndicate Club is welcome to run for executive membership.

If you are interested in joining the executive membership you should:

  1. Love mountain biking.
  2. Enjoy cutting and grooming trails.
  3. Have some extra time and energy.

Executive members receive the following rewarding benefits:

  1. FREE entry to all ORS events (XC8, Wascana Challenge, etc)
  2. FREE event goodies (tshirt, food, etc)
  3. One vote towards ORS club decisions

Executive Positions and Duties
While the club works as a cooperative, each individual is expected to perform certain duties for their position. Time commitment is low for all positions and most communication, discussion, and decisions are made via email. New members always receive help from existing executive members when they are first elected to ease into their responsibilities. In many cases a "Procedure script" is available which is a detailed "to-do list" of everything that needs to be done for that position. We just need someone to perform the duties laid out for them.

President
Main responsibility is club spokesperson. It is their responsibility to attend SCA and ORS meetings and functions. This executive member speaks on behalf of the entire club executive and takes direction from the majority of the executive. The President does not run the club, instead, is responsible for keeping the club together, organized and moving forward. The club President should be able to follow the executive as well as be a leader.

VP, Race Series - A procedure script is available for this position.
The Race Series VP is directly responsible for running the weekly race series. They are responsible for the race schedule, managing and marking the course, ensuring the race has a timer and managing any promotions (ie. picking up bagels, placing banners) They have final say on race day and can act without the executive when decisions need to be made quickly (ie. race cancellations and changes). They should be logical and must always make the decision that is best for the situation, the club, and its members.

VP, Finance and Admin
Duties including making sure all club finances are in order. This includes doing basic accounting for the ORS as well as organizing and outlining income and expenses from club events. This individual has signing authority for club checks, and is responsible for deposits and issuing checks. This position does not require anyone outgoing, but does require good math skills and legible handwriting. This executive is also responsible for keeping meeting "minutes" and writing down ideas and suggestions at executive meetings.

VP, Sask Cup - A procedure script is available for this position.
Main duty is the event coordinator for the Sask Cup MTB Event (Wascana Challenge). They are responsible for race course design and organizing course marking/grooming. They are responsible for submitting the forms for park land usage approval, securing First Aid, as well as formation of committees or a day-of-event race organizer if they are not available to do it themselves. They can act alone on decisions that must be made quickly on race day.

VP, Endurance - A procedure script is available for this position.
Main duty is the event coordinator for the XC8. Position responsibilities related to this job are identical to VP, Sask Cup.

VP, Coaching
This executive member manages the ORS training program and helps coach young riders in our Learn to Ride program. They must be a certified and qualified coach. LTR Course Curriculum provided.
