There was a mixup on some of the lap counts which resulted in missing laps and skewed results. We have identified those with missing laps and have pro-rated their times by their average to make up for our mistake. There were other mistakes in compiling results which were also fixed.

Prizes: Kris Wall: Kona Stickers (Kona/Dutch Cycle) & Powerbars / Powergels / Powerbar bites for Andrew Thomas, Adele Bachelu, Phil Anderson, and Kim Wall (MTBMOVIES.COM) Everyone also recieved coupons for Booster Juice and fresh bagels from The Great Canadian Bagel!

RACE CALLED DUE TO LIGHTNING
Racers signed up (all receive 2 points for starting): Brendan Frycz, Lea Lapointe, Brett Elek, Tanner Frycz, Orville Aldrich, Jayden Aldrich, Kevin Sharp, Adele Bachelu, Shelly Major, Liz Tomczak, Anna Torgunrud, Ken Syrnyk, Rob Britton, Phil Anderson, Jason Cherney, Kris Abrahamson, Daniel Keleer, Dave Brooks, Andrew Thomas, Zlatin Fazlagic, Jeremy Trask.

Race Highlights: The sky looked dark at the start of the race, but lightning wasn't really an issue until we were just ending the first lap. Lightning intensified and struck really close -- parents were concerned and so was the ORS, so we had to call the race. The great thing is, everyone still wanted to ride! This just goes to show that this club is hardcore and the members really love mountain biking. Everyone who started the race has been given 2 points for being hardcore!
Prizes: Everyone who stuck around after the 'big bang' got fresh bagels from The Great Canadian Bagel!
Timer: Darrel Frycz & Cheryl Partridge -- Thank you!

Race Highlights: Racers tag-teamed every 2 laps for 45 minutes. The racing was super fast and super fun! This was the first event of this kind and it was a complete success. The teams were basically paired up so that super fast racers were paired with less advanced racers and the rest were just randomized. Teams of Frycz-Kleer and Cherney-Van Ginneken as well as Abrahamson-Major and Bitschy-Frycz were extremely tight races. The race came down to a sprint between Tanner Frycz and Jay Van Ginneken -- Tanner barely beat out Jay by half a bike length! Team Wrubleski-Wrubleski came in next in third place.
Prizes: Michael Donison: Kona Gloves (Kona/Dutch Cycle) & Kris Wall: ORS T-shirt. Everyone also recieved coupons for Booster Juice and fresh bagels from The Great Canadian Bagel!
Timer: Darrel Frycz, Cheryl Partridge & Ashley Miller (bell girl) -- Thank you!

Race Highlights: It was a great evening and a total of 26 racers took to Mount Pleasant. There was a LOT of sandbagging going on in the 4 lap category, seems that the last day of June was a bit too hot for some racers who SHOULD have been doing 8 laps. In the 8 lap category, Kris Abrahamson broke the lap record with a lap time of 3:57 -- 23 seconds faster than Brad Kerr's record!
Prizes: Michael Wrubleski & Barry Hoffman: Kona Gloves (Kona/Dutch Cycle). Everyone also recieved coupons for Booster Juice and fresh bagels from The Great Canadian Bagel!
Most Improved: Brendan Frycz was the most improved racer, with an improvement of 34.2% over his previous best lap this season. He took home a cool ORS t-shirt! 1st: Brendan Frycz: 34.2%, 2nd: Kris Abrahamson: 33.8%, 3rd: Micah Lindo 32.6%, 4th: Brett Elek 31%, 5th: Michael Wrubleski 28%, 6th: Jayden Aldrich 27.4%, 7th: Orville Aldrich 27.3%, 8th: Zlatin Fazlagic 21.8%, 9th: Tanner Frycz 20.5%, 10th: Barry Hoffman 19.1%

Unofficial club photographer Bruce Goalen made his first appearance, taking several dozen pictures.

Race Highlights: After loads of rain, the day before the race the course looked impossible to race on. Luckily, the track dried up quite a bit overnight and was not only rideable -- it was a blast! Brad Kerr edged out Zetterstrom by minutes to win the elite men category. Ed Ricci (who volunteered and marked trail as well) won his race as well -- see what happens when you volunteer, you learn the trail! Kris Barahamson (2nd place) beat out Jay Van Ginneken (3rd place) in the senior sport category. Kim Wall had another solid finish, 3rd place in his category. In her first race, Cheryl Partridge finished 2nd. Kathy Lewis won her category as well. Brendan Frycz had a solid finish in 3rd place, right in the middle of his category. Jayden Aldrich won in his first provincial race -- second place was 7 minutes back! Kris Wall wasn't too far back either. Congrats to all racers!

Race Highlights: Previous days of rain caused the course to become a mud pit. The Mount Pleasant course was modified to stay at the top of the hill where it was relatively dry. This was the first race this year that there were NO DNFs! Dave Brooks lapped EVERYONE on his way to his win. Kris Abrahamson took over the lead of the points series with his second place finish. Jayden Aldrich showed up late, but was still able to catch up and pull off a 7th place finish. Congrats everyone on a good race.

Jayden Aldrich was by far the youngest racer in the 4 laps category and again did very well. Kim Wall ran away with the 2 lap category, followed by Susan Bladyko (fastest female for the day) and Derek Wrubleski took 3rd place. Both 2 and 4 lap categories were extremely tight the entire race.
Prizes: Clif Bars and Powerbars from MTBMOVIES.COM, SCA Mountain Bike Manual and Trail Guides, and Offroad Syndicate T-shirts (Andrew Thomas).

Some impressive finishes by Andrew Thomas, who narrowly beat out Dave Brooks for first place during the 40 minute race. Newcomer Jayden Aldrich, the winner of the 20 minute race, showed an impressive and strong first race. Jayden is definitely a young up and coming racer to watch for in the future. Michael and Sara Wrubleski also showed solid determination in the 20 minute category.

Race Highlights: It was an extremely cold Sunday morning, temperatures peaking at around 6 degrees. Racers shivered at the start line -- some all decked out in cold weather gear, others wearing just shorts and a t-shirt! Brad Kerr and Rob Britton were neck and neck the entire race and it came down to a final sprint up the last hill to the finish line. Rob just beat out Brad by a bike length -- if that! Tanner Frycz was strong out of the start and on the first lap, but cramped up so bad at the start of his second lap that he had to DNF -- definitely a hardcore performance none-the-less. Jay Van Ginneken had his best finish ever at Prince Albert, 3rd place. Phil Anderson was kicking some serious ass until he crashed and plowed his face into the course. Not only did he get back up, but he finished a strong 4th place after the serious crash. In his first provincial mountain bike race, Hal Vorston won his category -- FINISHING that course is an accomplishment. Both father and son Kim and Chris Wall had strong races, finishing 3rd and 2nd respectively. Brendan Frycz also WON his category.

Race Highlights: Frigid temperatures didn't stop 7 races from taking to the course. Rob Britton snapped a deraileur within the first 5 minutes of the race. Jeremy Trask did the entire course without stopping to warm up -- and did it with just regular shorts on (brrr!) On a flat tire, Phil Anderson finished the race -- and won!
