Bike Requirements
This is a mountain bike–focused ride series using dirt trails and park terrain.
You do not need an expensive bike — but your bike must be safe and suitable for off-road riding. Hybrid bikes may work for some routes, but road bikes are not recommended.
At minimum:
-
Working front and rear brakes
-
Tires with tread
-
Properly fitting bike
-
Helmet (mandatory)
If you’re unsure whether your bike is appropriate, bring it out and we’ll help take a quick look.
Membership & Waivers
All participants must have a signed waiver.
ORS membership is required for ongoing participation.
New riders are welcome to try one ride before becoming a member.
Sign-Up & Planning
To help with planning, participants are asked to sign up in advance when possible.
The sign-up helps us estimate:
-
Number of riders
-
Ages and riding comfort levels
-
Food needs
-
Volunteer support
Drop-ins are still welcome, especially for first-time participants, but advance sign-up helps us organize groups and make the evening run smoothly.
Parents & Volunteers
This is a community-driven series.
We are always looking for:
-
Ride leaders
-
Sweep riders
-
Parents willing to help organize groups
If you are interested in helping out, please let us know.
Food & Community
The social side of the series is just as important as the riding.
For the kickoff ride, ORS will provide a simple hosted food option: hot dogs, chips, and drinks.
Participants are also encouraged to bring their own food, snacks, or something to share.
Future rides may include informal potluck-style participation.
Participants are encouraged to stay after the ride, hang out, and connect.
Weather & Trail Conditions
Ride status will be communicated by approximately 4:00 PM on event days through the ORS website and Facebook page.
If trails are too wet or conditions are unsafe, rides may be modified or cancelled.
Questions?
If you have questions about the series, bike suitability, volunteering, or participation, please contact ORS through the website or social media channels.
