ORS Dirt Kids, presented by Western Cycle

WHAT:

You’ve learnt how to ride a bike and love it.... but want to take it to the next level, in Dirt Kids you’ll be introduced to the sport of mountain biking with emphasis on acquiring and developing cycling skills in a fun challenging environment.

You’ll learn cycling skills such as body positioning, straight line riding, braking, climbing, descending, cornering, and trail etiquette.

WHEN:

Mondays and Wednesdays Apr 28 to June 7, 6:30 PM to 7:20 PM (See schedule below)

​

WHERE:  

Douglas Park and Wascana Trails, with a wrap-up at Buffalo Pound

​

WHO:  
  • Youth aged 8 to 12 with a bike, a helmet, and a desire to ride off-road.

  • 1 coach to 5 riders for Monday sessions. Parents welcome to ride along

  • Wednesday Lake Loops require a responsible adult to ride with the group

​

WHY:
  • Meet friends who love to ride as much as you do,

  • Build those dirt skills to tackle any terrain on two wheels,

  • Earn some turns with lake pedal sessions

  • Have fun!

HOW MUCH:
  • Dirt Kids Program Fee: $60

  • Offroad Syndicate Membership: Free for U16

  • Sask Cycling Association General Membership: $60 for U16

  • Mon, Jun 2, 6:30 PM - Wascana Trails

Douglas Park Hill: Build some skills, earn some turns, and enjoy the best elevation in the city of Regina

​

Lake Loops: Meet at the Willow on Wascana. A ride leader will guide the group for a pedal around the lake. A responsible parent/guardian must be present and ride with your youth - helmets mandatory. Occasionally we'll overlap and ride with the Western Cycle Rides Taco Ride crew.

Wascana Trails: Take your skills to the closest trail network

​

Buffalo Pound Wrap up: Enjoy the great trails at BP and a BBQ provided by Western Cycle!
